What we do
At Child Autism UK, our mission is to help children reach their potential.
We’ve supported autistic children and their families for 25 years
Child Autism UK was started by a small group of passionate parents who wanted to ensure that all children could access evidence-based services regardless of their background or postcode.
Based in Bracknell, Berkshire, we have staff across the country, from Cornwall to North Wales, who are dedicated to helping ensure all the children they work with are given the chance to fulfil their amazing potential. Over the past 25 years, the charity has grown, but our focus remains the same.
We support families and professionals across the UK by providing autism training, support, and advice. With over 80 years of combined experience assisting children in realising their potential, we are fully committed to providing high-quality services that improve the quality of life of children and their caregivers.
Using positive reinforcement and fun learning sessions based on the principles of behaviour analysis (also known as ABA Applied Behaviour Analysis or ABA), we give parents, tutors and educators tools to help children learn new skills, better manage their behaviour, and make meaningful progress towards the goals that matter to them.
Our unique approach
Child Autism UK is the largest provider of home-based early intervention programmes and ABA programmes in the UK.
We know that autism brings with it tremendous strengths as well as some personal challenges. That’s why we work one-to-one with children to see what matters most to them and help them work towards achieving their goals.
Each child’s journey will be different, and they will make progress in their own way. That’s why we create tailored, fun learning programmes that help them navigate obstacles, learn new skills, and live the lives they want to live.
Our programmes designed to give every child more options. We’re not changing who children are – we’re unlocking who they can choose to be.
Improving families’ quality of life
In addition to championing children, we’re also here to support families. We want to empower every parent and carer with the confidence to advocate for their child and help them learn new skills and behaviours.
We believe every parent should have access to evidence-based services such as our Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programmes.
Why we use behaviour analysis
Behaviour analysis is the most established evidence-based approach to autism. It is the preferred approach to supporting autistic children in many countries, with decades of peer-reviewed research evidencing its effectiveness.
We passionately believe that all families should feel empowered to get the best provision for their children and that all children deserve access to evidence-based learning to reach their full potential.
Our Credentials
We are committed to ensuring that the Child Autism package your child receives is effective, and we’re proud to say that we work with University academics to research our programmes’ effectiveness.
Although the research is still in its early stages, we’re seeing positive results in communication and overall outcomes, and we’re excited to continue our work to help autistic children and their families.
