School Specific Support
We can provide support to children who need more help at school.
A helping hand at school
As part of our Full Support Package, we always recommend that the programme be delivered across all environments so that your child has a consistent experience across their day. However, we also offer school-specific support if your child mainly needs support at school rather than at home. This is either arranged and funded by the family or through your local authority or school, which can apply to us directly.
We have extensive experience helping children transition into nursery and school, and training staff to support them to ensure they can be as successful and independent as possible. We also train tutors or teaching assistants in how to best support your child in school.
Our school support aims to maximise independence and inclusion and make the most of every learning and social opportunity. We can provide whole-school training on autism or other bespoke courses.
Our staff are experienced in writing annual review reports, IEP targets, and the school monitoring process. We can also design and introduce social skills sessions and help schools write behaviour support plans.
Our services for families
Our unique Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programmes can help children build their skills and manage their own behaviour more effectively.
We offer dedicated support for schools, from one-off advice through to regular support on a range of issues.
G has been supported by Child Autism UK since he was two years old. Thanks to the expert guidance of his wonderful and dedicated case worker, he’s made amazing progress both at home and at school. Now thriving in Year 5 at a mainstream primary, G is growing in confidence every day. He’s made huge strides in his communication and social skills and has built some truly lovely friendships along the way.
“Excellent advice service… always kind, helpful and deal with problems quickly”
Autism is an incredibly prevalent condition and Child Autism UK is a truly wonderful charity who provide support and resources in a world where diagnosis is a long and challenging process, leaving families without the support and guidance they need in that period.
“Child Autism UK provided personalised support for our whole family and one-to-one intensive support for our child.”
